The short version: we collect as little as possible. No accounts, no tracking, no cookies.

We operate from the European Union, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. For visitors in Canada we also follow the principles of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA): we collect only what we need, say why, and protect it.

When you visit the site

Our host processes technically necessary access data such as IP address, time, the page requested and the browser identifier, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in secure operation. Server logs are deleted after a short period. Host: Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. Data may be processed on servers outside Canada, including in the European Union.

Near-me search and your location

For the distance search your browser asks whether to share your location. You grant this actively and can withdraw it at any time. Your location is processed only inside your browser to calculate distances. It is not sent to us or anyone else and not stored. Postal codes and city names you type are also matched inside your browser.

Fonts, maps and other external content

We use no external fonts and no tracking scripts. Simply viewing a page opens no connection to third parties. The city maps load map tiles from OpenStreetMap only after you click "Load map"; your IP address is then sent to the OpenStreetMap Foundation. "Get directions" opens Google Maps in a new page — from there, Google's privacy policy applies.

Analytics

We use no analytics tools and no advertising cookies.

The site remembers two small preferences in your browser's local storage — light or dark mode, and whether you closed the notice bar. They never leave your device.

Affiliate links to Amazon.ca

Some pages show a block marked Advertisement with links to Amazon.ca. Nothing happens until you click — no connection to Amazon, no script, no cookie. If you click, you leave our site; Amazon learns that you came from us and sets its own cookies to credit a purchase to us. Amazon's privacy notice applies there. Legal basis for the link: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in financing this directory. Your price stays the same.

When you email us

If you write to us, we use your message and address only to answer you, and delete them when the matter is settled unless the law requires us to keep them.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and you may complain to a data protection authority — in Ireland the Data Protection Commission, in Canada the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. A short message to team@velvetdotscreativeminds.com is enough.

Business listings

The listings contain business information from open map data and public business listings, not personal data about customers. Owners who do not want their car wash listed can write to us and we remove the entry — no reason needed.
